MANILA, Philippines--QMSoft Inc. will pilot enterprise resource planning (ERP) software it has developed specifically for electronics companies, a company official told INQUIRER.net.

Reynante Gamboa, QMSoft project manager, said his team has completed the initial version of QMPlus, the company's ERP suite.

The first version comprises of human resource (HR) modules and will be used by Laguna-based EMS Components Assembly Inc., parent firm of QMSoft. EMS provides assembly services for manufacturers like Panasonic, Sanyo and NEC.

Gamboa said in a phone interview that QMSoft will be available in four versions, each made up of specific modules in HR, inventory/production and another integrated with financial applications.

Gamboa and his team of four Filipino software engineers have been working with Silicon Valley-based Global Cybersoft in developing QMPLus.

Global Cybersoft is headquartered in Santa Clara, California and has development sites in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

"The end-goal is to market QMPlus overseas, targeting small and midsized electronics manufacturers," said Gamboa.

Global Cybersoft, meanwhile, will market and help implement the solution for overseas customers. The company has deployed Vietnamese software engineers to electronics firms in Japan, said to Perry Ferrer, EMS business development director.

QMPlus will also be available via software-as-a-service (or over the Web) to make it more affordable to smaller electronics manufacturers, according to Ferrer.

"Smaller companies do not have thousands of dollars to spend for industry-specific software," he said.
