Be part of a worldwide effort to find a cure for cancer! Every year thousands of volunteers organize Terry Fox Runs at over 5,000 Run sites in Canada and in more than 50 countries around the world. Over one million participants walk, jog and bike in memory of Terry to raise funds for cancer research. The first annual Terry Fox Run in Vietnam was held in HCM City in 1996 and the first in Hanoi was in 2000. Tens of thousands of people have participated in the Terry Fox Runs in Vietnam and have raised tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research in Vietnam.

In Canada, the annual Terry Fox Run is held every September. In countries outside Canada, the Run is organized at a time that is convenient for local organizers and participants (in Vietnam, the rainy season, school terms and the expat community's vacation habits must be considered).

The Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families and groups to raise money in Terry’s name. It is a day of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep his dream of a cure for cancer alive.
There is no entry fee (but there is a minimum suggested pledge amount of USD5) and no prizes are awarded, although a certificate of appreciation is given when participants complete their journey.

The Terry Fox Foundation's mission is to maintain the principles of Terry Fox while raising money for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run, memoriam donations, and planned gifts. More info at www.terryfoxrun.org/english/home/default.asp?s=1

Individual runners, walkers, bicyclists, handicapped participants and others - and corporate teams - are all welcome to join!

Terry Fox died of cancer in 1981. At the age of 22 and knowing he was dying, Terry attempted to run across Canada to create awareness of the need for cancer research, managing to run 5,373 km in 143 days with one leg amputated. Terry Fox Runs have so far raised well over USD300,000,000 worldwide.

NOW NOW NOW!!!!

The minimum suggested pledge is only USD5 and you can sign up supporters to contribute on your behalf!

AND! There will be lucky draws and free food and beverages after the event (and free water during the event, of course), for all participants!

AND! Free Entertainment too! The popular Saint O Band (famous at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers in Level 23 Wine Bar & Nightspot) will perform two sets, from 7:15-7:45 a.m. and at 9:50 a.m. And well-known comedian Thanh Loc and his friends will perform at 9 a.m.
